FQHC stands for FEDERALLY QUALIFIED HEALTH CENTER.
The FQHC program is the only federal government program that has continually been rated as the most cost-efficient and effective health services program in the United States. FQHCs (also known as community health centers) receive federal grant funding to provide an array of quality health care services to all people regardless of ability to pay- and charge for services on a sliding fee scale which is based on a patients' family income and size.
